Laura Batchelor | Landscape Architect

BLA Hons, BSc, NZ Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3)

Laura grew up in Canterbury, weekdays in the city and many idyllic weekends in Burkes Pass where her parents have a historic cottage along with a small farm and native bush. She has always enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, whether in the garden or in the hills.

Laura graduated with first class honours in 2011 from Lincoln University and has been running Kawakawa Landscape Architecture since the beginning of 2019.

Laura has worked on a wide range of projects from large recreational reserves and playgrounds, gathering spaces for communities (such as the Heathcote Community Centre), through to the restoration of historic landscapes (such as The Lyttelton Timeball Station), along with many residential gardens and lifestyle blocks.  She is also currently working on her own garden surrounding an old villa in Ashburton.

She loves working with people to help create their dream gardens, whether big or small, and in the process get them excited to be outdoors!

June | Office Companion

When not aerating the compost heap or ‘helping’ dig over the garden, she is often found sleeping next to the office heater or basking in a ray of sun.

June ensures daily adventure/exercise and loves a good walk through the gardens or up the hill!
