Harewood Garden
A vibrant, textural, naturalistic garden designed to complement its peaceful rural setting. Rich layers of colour and planting create a relaxed atmosphere, inviting you to entertain family and friends, unwind on the deck, or gather around the firepit with a glass of wine as you soak up the last rays of the evening sun. Westview Garden, Ashburton
A clean, contemporary landscape design for a modern rural home in Ashburton, balancing structure with softness. A predominantly native perimeter grounds the garden within its wider setting, while seasonal trees and a more varied, colourful planting palette introduce subtle interest around the home. Simple, well-defined edges and low-maintenance planting support ease of care, while gentle mounding and carefully placed boulders create sculptural form and reinforce a strong connection to the rural landscape. Eaglesfield Close Garden
A contemporary landscape designed to complement a modern home above Hoonhay Valley Reserve, balancing clean architectural lines with the raw beauty of the Port Hills. The palette draws on rustic, natural materials, corten steel, timber sleepers, and locally sourced boulders, softened by layered plantings of tussock and native scrambling groundcovers. The result is a resilient, low-maintenance landscape that feels grounded in its environment while enhancing the home’s modern form. See the design behind the project.

Cracroft Ephemeral Garden
The brief was for a simple, classic outdoor living space, with an ephemeral, rustic style seasonal garden to tie in with the modern architecture. This garden was designed for (and with) a creative couple, who have, through the build process, put their own stamp on this space, making it feel truly special and a delight to experience. Cracroft Native Garden
The brief was for a naturalistic-style, low-maintenance garden with a rustic ‘native bush’ area to contrast with the modern architecture, whilst also catering to the needs of a young family with ample lawn and play spaces (along with a very practical rotary washing line). These keen clients are avid gardeners and love to grow their own food, so raised garden beds and berry patches, along with a decent composting area, were essential. It is wonderful to see everything growing well! See the design behind the project.

Lincoln Lifestyle Section
This lifestyle block in the rural Lincoln countryside has it all - you enter into a parkland setting with curved driveway lined with trees leading up a large motor court and house entrance. There is a kitchen garden, orchard and chicken run tucked around the back. And at the front a spacious entertaining area with covered deck (with built in kitchen still to come) along with a saltwater swimming pool (Lagoon Pools) and an outdoor lounge with fireplace (Flare). 2024 Resene Display Home of the Year - Best Landscaping, Jennian Homes, Ashburton
A showstopper textural contemporary garden for Jennian Homes in Strowan Fields, beautifully implemented by JNK Landscapes. The Panicle Hydrangea, Eddie’s White Wonder Dogwood & Lomandra ‘White Sands’ are a stunning but classic combination. This garden won the 2024 Resene Display Home of the Year - Best Landscaping. Character Filled Colourful Garden, Rangiora
A character-filled and colourful garden for a lovely west coast client. Designed in 2022 and photographed in 2024, this much-loved garden has been implemented in stages and adapted over time as plants have been found or gifted and thoughtfully added. I love the Whitebeam trees surrounding the house, along with the bright pop of yellow that she has chosen to contrast the modern architecture! See the design behind the project.

Halswell Native Garden
Designed in 2019 for an outdoor enthusiast who is passionate about cooking & growing their own food. While there were a few established trees on site (including the large pittosporum & akeake), a row of roses and a couple of concrete patios, this section was largely a blank slate. Structure was established, with a new outdoor living area and wood burning BBQ, along with a sleeper edged lawn, native borders, a screened kitchen garden with fruit trees & berries and a ‘forest floor walk’ to be viewed from the main indoor living spaces. A great space to enjoy!
Ashburton Villa Garden
This was my own much loved garden, which was established by hand from 2020 - 2024, and although no formal plan was drawn up for its development (as us creatives tend to bend the rules for our own houses & gardens), there was a strong vision in mind! As time allowed it was added to bit by bit and came into its own as a wonderful seasonal, colourful and rustic garden to suit the heritage home and site. A lot was learnt through its development and it gave me plenty of opportunity to experiment and learn new skills.
